Jam
There is a lot of traffic in the city of angels. So I took a picture and Chris Burden made an installation. He also made the one in the previous post that had a lot of street lamps in it. We seem to share some fascinations.

Why you should go to Latvia
This post is about my trip to Latvia with my friend Steffi to the place we worked for a year. It is also here to encourage you to go there.
Reason Nr. 1: It's awesome.
Cheapest flights we got to Riga were from Bremen. To get to Bremen we took a bus. Not so smart, because you have a two-hour stopover in Berlin. But we managed to keep our mood up:

Groningen II
As you might have noticed, I failed spectacularly in updating my Groningen trip. By now I have a trip to Latvia to share. So I will just post this gif and maybe update with more ones later... when I find that time I keep losing.

Groningen I
Unfortunately I do not have time today for a full-blown post about all the fabulous things I experienced on my trip to this beautiful city. But let's up the excitement by a look into the famous expressions of J's face. His partner in crime was equally well trained in the art of improv and it was a true pleasure to watch. Thanks for the great show

Berlin

I was in GB, bitch!
Not only did we go to Great Britain, we also saw the most awesome stuff there is to see. At least as much as is possible in two weeks time. We skipped Stonehenge because we had an accidental spectacular view from the traffic jam on the road next to it. Instead, we took the great houses head on, making ourselves comfortable. Places from Harry Potter were visited, just as those from the great Pooh and Jane Austen. The countryside was a sight of its own and the weather was mostly sunny and when it was not, it was at least spectacular. In the very end we snug in a little visit to my home of three years and it greeted us from it's best side. Could we ask for more?

Goodbye Groningen
Being the incredibly chaotic person that I am, I'll be back for a resit. Because why should anybody not screw up last minute after three years of successful studying? I managed to move out, however. Maybe I will update with a picture of how our car looked after we stuffed three years of gatherings in there. And that was after I donated a lot of my stuff to Mamamini and a trip to Milieudienst. I can only recommend throwing something heavy in a huge container to reduce stress levels. It's like therapy. Alcohol helps, too.
These two were at my door at eight in the morning to wave goodbye. If you are looking for true friendship people, this is what it looks like.

Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam

Sorry for being absent for so long. I was slightly preoccupied with passing my last-before-last exams and celebrating the arrival of summer. But I also managed to go to Amsterdam and have a look at the newly re-opened Rijksmuseum. If you haven't been, it's definitely worth the trip. I started the earliest from Groningen with one of the cheapo day-tickets (they are only valid after 9 am). I went straight to the museum via La Place for some soup. I stayed until they closed, which is kind of early at 5 pm. Of course, I did not manage to see everything, even though I basically ran through some of the rooms I was not too interested in. Well, I have been known to spend a lot of time in museums. And by a lot I mean so much even my dad grew impatient.

So I will share some pictures, but not much of the actual pictures, because the camera does not catch their beauty at all. The building alone is pretty cool, sometimes one has to think about looking up from all the exhibits and look at the ceiling or walls.
Just go there, pick some periods you like and follow the map. Don't give up when you can't find some of the stairs at first try. I spent like 15 minutes trying to find the modern era. Don't miss out on the Asian pavilion.
View from the sculpture gallery on the Museumplein.
They have a little library in there. It is just the dream of a library.
This is porcelain from Meissen, the birth place of European porcelain and around an hour to drive from my home town. We actually have some of this stuff. Feel so cool. Next picture is a Dutch version, unfortunately forgot the town.
What I thought was really cool is the "camera magica", which is basically the earliest form of a projector. They used these little slides from above to project stories. However, it is not known today how these machines really worked at the time. At the time, of course, most people thought they were magic.
Two cool picture details. Details are the most awesome things about old art anyway. The cat interrupting the old woman's prayers. The guy in a huge picture (a little smaller than the Night's Watch), who is indicating his lack of drink. Looks like me two nights ago.
Don't stay in the museum for lunch! Go out on the Museumplein and get a snack in the sun. My particular milkshake even had some inspiration from Rietveld.
I have never seen an actual restaurant on a platform before Amersfoort.
